New Sketchbook

I bought a new sketchbook last week and broke it in tonight. I've been trying to play loose with the brush pen—taking some time away from doodling in Flash (where I'm more apt to work tight).

It's fun...I just glide along.
If I goof up a line, no undo—no problem.

Here I kind of mangled his foot, but oh well.
He doesn't need to walk.

And here's a happy fella I doodled on copier paper. WOOF!

Congrats on the new sketchbook! It's exciting overwhelming at the same time...but you seem to have gotten over the overwhelming part already.

I loooove the eyes on that little dude. :)

awesome! I love what you doing with that brush. You should fill the whole book with your brush work. I think you could sell copies easy.

Thanks a bunch! It's important to keep a sketchbook. I've been lazy about it for a few years—drawing on loose sheets or the computer most of the time.

Glad to be back.

Hooray for new sketchbooks! All us drawing nerds want to know the following, size make and model? I'm ruining a couple of books now with little to show for it. Can't wait to see more.

Drawing NERDS! I picked up a sketchbook from Blick last week when I went to see Harry Potter (NEEEEERD!) in Kenmore. I've grown tired of Moleskines, got something a bit bigger (wish it were tad bigger, now)—it's 5.5" x 8.5". A hardbound canvas cover Cachet sketchbook. You can paint on the cover, apparently. 110 sheets.

The ink shows through a little bit on the opposite side of the page, so haven't been drawing on the backsides. There are better sketchbooks—but this is doing the trick for now.

Oh man, I love the kid...those big puppy dog eyes, his noodley arms, and those oversized socks. Pure gold Bob.

I love the originality of your characters, and your line quality makes me drool every time.

Great stuff!
