I love the brain jamming out. Saved that one to my desktop.

My music listening has slowed wayyy down, but I do like Animal by Miike Snow a lot. The original and especially this remix.

Animal Collective, YES! Love "My Girls" Thanks for the list.

Lets see, I really liked the "Choir of Young Believers" album I picked up. Avett Bros had a great album too. And I loved this song:

This guy, Matthew Houck, is a one man indie-folk-alternative-country band. This song Wolves was recorded live in the KEXP studio here in Brooklyn where I heard it one morning on the radio.

Good list, a lot of my favorites are on there too. I love Neon Indian, probably my favorite album of the year. I'm surprised you didn't mention Yacht? Have you heard them? Their track "The Afterlife" is one of the best songs of the year.

Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue

School of 7 Bells - Alpinisms

Yacht - See Mystery Lights

The Big Pink - Self Titled

Whoa. Thanks for dropping off the music, fellas. I was gonna do a favorite songs list, too, but it's exhausting to think about. "My Girls" would definitely be up there, Jake. I can't get enough of those guys and Panda Bear.

And Aeron...wowzers. Most of the bands are familiar (not their new albums, though). I missed out on Yacht this year—will check it out asap. I'm familiar with their early work, have a couple mp3s tucked away. I had a hard time figuring out where to put Neon Indian—I like it more with every listen...probably deserves to be a bit higher.

Lots to explore (suhweet!)

Recommended listening: Said the Gramophone's Top 75 songs from 09. What I've been listening to since this weekend.

All year I wait for this list! :) I'm with you on most of it...especially Pheonix!

I didn't do this the past few years, mostly because I've been finding new music that's older. Maybe I'll do a top 10 of something else? Hmm. :)

yea this is seriously a gold mine for new music.

I don't have a top 10, but one album I really loved this year was LP from Discovery. Of course Wolfgang Amadeus has been really great to work to this year as well, -minus the minute that's on that car commercial...right Bob ;)

I also really enjoy the new Animal Collective album whenever you put it on in the studio, great stuff.

-Aeron your list is def. gonna absorb an hour or two, checkin out all these new tunes. Thanks!

I think I can safely say that my favorite albums of the year are the "Where the Wild Things Are" song soundtrack by Karen O and the score album by Carter Burwell. Great music from my favorite film of the year!

I also must add that the brain listening to the Ipod is brilliant!

Lots of music to catch up on, may do that tonight.

Renee+Keith: You guys love your Phoenix ;) If you remind me, I'll play Animal Collective's new EP in the studio.

David: The soundtrack to WTWTA is indeed a treat... especially like "Hideaway" and "Capsize." One of the reason's that movie was so great.

Adam: White Pepper is an oldy—one of Ween's best.

John-Michael: I know all the bands, only heard Embryonic—a pretty great effort by the Flaming Lips.
